Welcome to all my new followers!

On Tuesday, I uploaded one of my latest commissions, complete with WIP photos.  If you haven't seen it yet....

Commission Example: Sleepy Mandarax by emilySculpts

Within a day, this image received nearly 15,000 views and over 1000 favorites.  I also acquired a number of new followers and made it to the front page in the "popular" images.  I am still completely blown away by the attention this image received.  I am assuming it was due to showing my process which shows to me how much you guys really want those sculpting tutorials :)  (PS, if you haven't voted yet in my poll, it's still running on my front page!)

Thank you all so much for your appreciation!  I can't wait to share more with you in the future.  In the meantime, if you are interested in my process, I recommend checking out my Tumblr account for all my latest projects.  You can also follow me on Facebook and Twitter to see the same content.  My wordpress blog also contains WIP images of some of my older projects.  All the links can be found below on this journal entry.

Materials and Tools

My larger sculptures are made using Aves Apoxie Sculpt and/or Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam.  My maquettes are constructed using Super Sculpey, a polymer clay.  I also work with Monster Clay and create molds/casts from these sculpts.

My armatures consist of household aluminum foil, as well as aluminum armature wire.  I paint with Delta Ceramcoat craft acrylic paints, using both an airbrush and hand brushes.
