My Neighbor Totoro by emilySculpts My Neighbor Totoro by emilySculpts
This piece was done for a good friend that is designing my logo. Sorry, it is not for sale. I am going to have a hard time parting with it!

I first saw My Neighbor Totoro when it was originally released in America in the late 90’s. Ever since then, it has been my all-time favorite movie and one of my greatest inspirations. This was a really great piece to work on and it was very enjoyable.

It always ends up being more difficult than I think to sculpt simple forms like this. I definitely had some hurdles with this piece. I have a “Making-Of” coming next week along with another Ghibli sculpture!

Materials : Super Sculpey, Sculpey Firm and Apoxie Sculpt Over a Wire and Foil Armature, Glassine (Umbrella), Acrylic Paint, Wood Base

Dimensions : 8.5” Tall on a 7” Base

Time Taken : 15.5 Hours

Want to learn to sculpt like I do?

Check out my new book, Creature Sculpt!
